THIS YEAR, DUE TO COVID 19, WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT BAGS - NO CARDBOARD BOXES.
PLEASE PACK YOUR BAG/S AT LEAST 48 HRS BEFORE YOUR DROP OF DATE AND THEN AVOID TOUCHING THE CONTENTS. THE HANDLES/OUTSIDE OF THE BAGS WILL BE DISINFECTED BY US.
Ideally, please use the Christmas sturdy bag for life size ones that all the major shops/supermarkets sell. In the past we have recommended the laundry bags with zips but we have subsequently found these too heavy to lift when full and in some cases we have had to split the bags before delivery – this is something we wish to avoid this year as we need to keep the touching of everything to an absolute minimum.
However, we have relaxed the rules this year on the number of bags permitted.

Maximum of 5 bags
Family of 6+
Maximum of 6 bags

How Does It Work?
We receive our nominations at the end of October/beginning of November from SOCIAL WORKERS, SCHOOLS AND REGISTERED LOCAL CHARITIES for individuals and families that would benefit from a CAUSE Christmas Hamper.
We then allocate you an individual/family depending on what you request when registering.
What details do you get?
You will be told the basic dynamics of the family such as;
Mum, Dad, Boy 7 years old, Girl 5 years old
or if you are doing an individual hamper;
17 year old female.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide clothing sizes.
(If you wish to buy clothes or PJs we ask you to provide a gift receipt in case the sizing is wrong)
The Hamper should consist of mainly long-life foods. (See printable list below)
If you are able, we ask that you buy a small gift for each family member.
(Nothing too expensive but something they will enjoy - a suggestion list is available to download below.
IT HAS BEEN REQUESTED THIS YEAR THAT ANY GIFTS ARE NOT WRAPPED.
When preparing your hamper we recommend the majority be long life foods.
Hampers need to be clearly marked with the ID number.
(If more than one bag ensure they are labelled with ID number and 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3 etc)
The hamper needs to be secure so no items fall out.
(Please secure with string/ribbon)
Use the rule - If you can't lift it ....we can't lift it.
(Try to even out the weight in the bags)
You can put an unsealed Christmas card in with your hamper but you MUST remain anonymous
Please do NOT put any money in the hamper.
(Supermarket Gift Vouchers are permitted - no more than £10 per hamper)
